1. Information we collect
- Account information. When a merchant signs in, we collect the email address used for our passwordless (magic-link) sign-in.
- Business listing information. Details merchants provide about their business (name, industry, city, description).
- Submissions through merchant tools.Information that consumers submit through a merchant's intake form or review request. Merchants control which fields they collect; some fields may contain personal information the consumer chooses to provide.
- Reviews. Ratings and review text submitted via a single-use, emailed invitation.
- Information collected automatically. Device, browser, IP address, pages viewed, and similar usage data collected through cookies and similar technologies (see below).
2. Cookies, analytics & advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: (a) strictly necessary cookies that keep you signed in (a session token); (b) analytics; and (c) advertising.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data; see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Advertising (Google AdSense). We may display ads served by Google and third-party vendors. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick/AdSense cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendors at aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org. See Google's advertising policies.
Cookie controls. We do not require a cookie-consent gate to use the Service. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings and manage advertising preferences using the links above. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in.
3. How we use information
- To operate the directory and deliver the merchant tools.
- To authenticate sign-ins and secure the Service.
- To route consumer submissions and reviews to the relevant merchant.
- To send transactional emails (sign-in links, confirmation links).
- To measure usage and to display and measure advertising.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
4. How we share information
- With merchants. Consumer submissions and reviews are shared with the merchant they were directed to.
- Service providers. Hosting and database (Supabase), transactional email (Resend), and analytics/advertising (Google). These providers process data on our behalf.
- Legal & safety. Where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Use of advertising cookies may be considered “sharing” or “sale” under some U.S. state laws; you can limit it using the opt-out links in Section 2.
5. Health information & HIPAA
Cliqs is a general business directory and software platform. We are not a “covered entity” or “business associate” under the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and we do not enter into Business Associate Agreements by default. Healthcare-related merchants are solely responsible for their own HIPAA and other regulatory obligations and must not transmit protected health information (PHI) through features that are not configured and contracted for that purpose. By default, review-collection is disabled for medical-clinic listings. Contact legal@cliqs.com before using the Service for any workflow involving PHI.
6. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes, then delete or de-identify it. Single-use verification tokens expire automatically.
7. Your choices & rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To make a request, contact privacy@cliqs.com. You can also manage cookies and advertising as described in Section 2.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children and is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. International users
The Service is operated from the United States and information may be processed there. By using the Service you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
